The first day of FIFA 19's always massive anticipated Team of the Year promo is here.
Matching Futhead's FIFA community official ballot to a T, this year's Ultimate XI, the second such year EA's broken ranks from the FIFPro side and done their own Team of the Year, is made up of many of the biggest and best names in world football.
While Liverpool and Egyptian football fans may feel a bit hard done Mohamed Salah got the squeeze, the eleven chosen overall were all amongst the very best at their positions in the world during the January-December 2018 calendar year and other than some nitpicks here and there (say, Jan Oblak missing out inspite of David De Gea's sub-par World Cup), there's not a lot to feel slighted over.
In terms of FIFA, and perhaps music to the ears of FUT enthusiasts, all the players chosen fit FUT 19's meta quite well. Now the trick becomes figuring out how to both afford these mega special player items and/or fitting them into your squad.
As with last year's TOTY promo, the Attackers are first. Barcelona's center forward Lionel Messi, FIFA 18 & 19 cover star, Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo, and their seemingly heir apparent France (and Paris Saint Germain)'s right winger Kylian Mbappe are the first three players in packs. Unless you're particularly well off (both disposable income and FUT coin wise), you might be best served waiting until this weekend when traditionally the full TOTY is in packs.
If somehow you missed it this morning or weren't tracking the community vote this past week, here's what that full Team of the Year 19 will look like:
