Goalkeeper
Donnarumma GK – Paris SG - 89 -> 90 Rated: Paris Saint-Germain snapped out of their losing streak in unconvincing fashion as they held on to secure a 2-0 win over Nice on Saturday. Donnarumma made some really impressive saves late in the first half and early in the second as Nice tried to force their way back into proceedings. An absolute wall as he racked up seven saves in total and claimed a huge 9 match rating from L'Equipe.
Defenders
De Ligt CB – FC Bayern - 88 -> 89 Rated: Bayern Munich took revenge for their cup defeeat against freiburg midweek and recorded a narrow and hard fought 1-0 victory against their opponents. The golden goal came from De Ligt who unleashed a shot from 25-yards and he did his defensive tasks very well too.
Smalling CB – Roma FC - 84 -> 87 Rated: Jose Mourinho's AS Roma side took advantage of the draws of both Milan teams and moved up to third place in the standings thanks to a 1-0 victory away at Torino. Chris Smalling once again proved his worth for his side, making a couple of important tackles and kept the Torino attackers quiet.
Frankowski LWB – RC Lens - 83 -> 86 Rated: RC Lens claimed a fourth straight win with a 2-1 defeat of RC Strasbourg Alsace on Friday that allowed the northern club to cement their second place behind Paris Saint-Germain at the top of the Ligue 1 Uber Eats table. Frankowski scored one of the two goals for his side and could pick up his second inform this week.
Midfielders
Milinkovic-Savice
CM – Latium - 87 -> 88 Rated:
The Bianconeri came into the match aware that a strong result was needed to take advantage of the two Milanese club’s draws on Friday, and they did not disappoint in a packed Stadio Olimpico, working hard to grind out a vital three points. Sergej Milinkovic-Savic put Lazio ahead in the first half with his calm strike from a few yards out, perfectly collecting a well-placed cross from Mattia Zaccagni and with a 7.5 from Gazzetta I'm predicting him to be in.
Pedro Goncalves
CM – Sporting CP - 85 -> 87 Rated:
This was actually a tough one to decide. Sporting played out an entertaining 4-3 victory away at Casa Pia and usually I would have included Trincao who scored a hat-trick but with the amount of wingers available from the top leagues I'm instead picking Pote who scored one and assisted another two.
Wirtz CAM – Leverkusen - 85 -> 87 Rated: Bayer Leverkusen continued their impressive run under head coach Alonso and recorded their seventh consecutive win across all competitions, beating Eintracht Frankfurt 3-1 at home. Florian Wirtz once again starred and is probably already at his pre-injury form, assisting two of the goals for his side.
Forwards
Bouanga
LW – LA FC - 85 -> 87 Rated:
LAFC head coach Steve Cherundolo was certainly entertaining that possibility following Saturday's dominant 3-0 win over Austin FC, fueled by the Gabon international's stunning hat-trick display at BMO Stadium. With Vela just on the bench it was on Bouanga to put his side on winnings ways and he did and continued the torrid offensive output.
Berghuis
RW – Ajax - 84 -> 87 Rated:
Ajax eased to a 4-0 victory over Fortuna Sittard in the Johan Cruijff Arena on Sunday, keeping their minimalistic title hopes alive. With Kudus missing through injury, Berghuis started on the wind and delivered a fine performance, finishing the game with two goals and two assists.
Thuram ST – Gladbach - 84 -> 87 Rated: Borussia Mönchengladbach earned a 2-0 victory over Wolfsburg on Sunday and went back on winning ways after two draws in a row. French forward Thuram, who's rumored to leave the club in the summer, scored one and assisted another and could pick up another inform this week.
Haaland ST – Man City - 89 -> 90 Rated: Manchester City maintained their quest to catch Arsenal at the top of the table with an emphatic 4-1 victory over Southampton on Saturday evening. On the periphery for most of the first half but in the right place to open the scoring. Superb bicycle kick with his final touch before being replaced was his 30th Premier League goal of the season.
Substitutes
Ochoa
GK – Salernitana - 80 -> 84 Rated:
Goalkeepers are once again not the easiest to select with a couple of top performances from golds. Salernitana recorded a 1-1 draw at home to Inter Milan and Mexican shot-stopper Ochoa made a total of 10 saves to deny Inter and picked up the highest match rating in Italy this week with an 8.
Ogbonna CB – West Ham - 79 -> 84 Rated: West Ham picked up just their second Premier League win away from home this season as they beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage thanks to an own goal from Harrison Reed. Following Nayef Aguerd's costly error in the midweek loss to Newcastle, Italian centre-back Angelo Ogbonna was recalled in his place, making his first league start since last month's 4-0 loss at Brighton and Hove Albion. Showed real leadership and like Zouma, was a force to be reckoned with. Excellent in the air and with his positioning, saving his best for the second half when sliding in to cut out Carlos Vinicius' cross. In a team that looked like it lacked leaders at Newcastle, Ogbonna took his chance well
Tolisso CDM – Lyon - 81 -> 85 Rated: Olympique Lyonnais put their Coupe de France exit behind them to claim a 3-1 win over Stade Rennais FC on Sunday, dealing a big blow to the Brittany side’s European hopes. Tolisso picked his moment to score a first Ligue 1 goal in six years, and what a strike it was to get OL back on level terms.
Olise RW– Crystal Palace - 76 -> 83 Rated: Crystal Palace embarrassed Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday, winning 5-1 in what was billed as a relegation six-pointer. Olise wasn't a factor in the first half but came alive in the second half of the game, setting up three goals in his side's massive comeback-win.
Chukwueze RW – Villareal - 84 -> 87 Rated: Villareal recorded a narrow 3-2 victory away against Real Madrid and continued their push for the UCL starting spots. Two goals from Chukwueze helped the Yellow Submarines to clinch these massive three points.
Muriqi ST – RCD Mallorca - 75 -> 83 Rated: Gold strikers have been quiet hard to find these week so I'm left with Muriqi who scored twice in Mallorca's 3-3 draw against Valladolid.
Furuhashi ST – Celtic - 75 -> 83 Rated: Celtic finally extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership after three months of waiting in a 3-2 derby day win over Rangers at Celtic Park on Saturday. Tidy finish in the first five minutes but was ruled offside. Not that it mattered much - the striker tucked home as he always does in these big games to further fuel Rangers fans' nightmares. Inevitable second from this season's most impressive forward - he is winning this title on his own.
Reserves
Cuellar GK – R. Sporting - 70 -> 81 Rated: We might see a third goalkeepers being included this week and that's because one of the craziest goalkeeper performances I've seen in a long time. Gijon recorded a 3-1 victory against Ibiza and Cuellar not only saved a penalty, he also assisted two of the goals.
Smal
LB – Twente - 69 -> 81 Rated:
Twente FC continued to impress with their home record in the Eredivisie, recording a comfortable 4-0 victory and with Smal assisting three of the goals he should be in.
D. Kemp
CM – Hartlepool - 64 -> 79 Rated:
Hartlepool recorded a comfortable 4-1 victory against Grimsby and with Dan Kemp scoring three of the goals, with one coming from the penalty spot, he should be in this week.
Bruno
ST – St. Truiden - 71 -> 81 Rated:
St. Truiden picked up a comfortable 5-0 win at home to Oosende on Sunday and Gianni Bruno scored twice and assisted another for his side.
B. Traore ST – Häcken - 62 -> 77 Rated: BK Häcken recorded their second win in their second game of the new season, beating Hammarby with 3-1. Benie Traore was the star of the show, scoring all three goals.
