Goalkeeper

Maignan GK – AC Milan - 87 -> 89 Rated: There were no signs of a post-World Cup hangover for France’s first game of the year, as a revamped and rejuvenated squad dismantled a dismayed Dutch side with a devastating counter-attacking showing, picking up a 4-0 victory. Usually Mbappe would be the first choice with two goals and an assist but with his recent POTM I don't think he'll be in and therefore I picked Maignan who made a couple of saves, including a late penalty to keep things at 4-0. Clean sheet in his first start as France's No.1.

Defenders

Savic CB – A. Madrid - 84 -> 87 Rated: In a match that lacked much excitement, Nikola Krstovic was on hand to give Montenegro the victory in the start of Group G in the qualifiers for Euro 2024. Montenegro could have easily drew the game when Rusev's shot surpased the keeper but Savic cleared it off the line and that might be enough this week to make it.

Tapsoba CB – Leverkusen - 84 -> 87 Rated: Burkina Faso are flying in group B atfer edging Togo 1-0 to make it three wins in a row and top the group with maximum nine points. Tapsoba did not score but he was a rock in his side's back line and was one of the main reasons they picked up another victory.

Orban CB – RB Leipzig - 84 -> 87 Rated: Defenders have been incredibly hard to select again which usually is the case during international breaks. Hungary recorded a narrow 1-0 victory against Estonia in their Euro 2024 qualifier and Orban was the best defender on the pitch, making a couple of important tackles and interceptions.

Midfielders

Sabitzer CM – Manchester United - 80 -> 84 Rated: Austria's Marcel Sabitzer scored twice as they profited from a dominant first-half performance to secure a comfortable 4-1 home win over Azerbaijan in their opening Euro 2024 Group F qualifier on Friday. The Manchester United midfielder, on loan from Bayern Munich, showed an excellent performance and should be in this week.

Steffen CAM – FC Lugano - 76 -> 83 Rated: Switzerland secured a 5-0 win over Belarus at the start of their Euro 2024 qualifying campaing on Saturday and former Wolfsburg midfielder Renato Steffen was the Man of the Match after he scored a hat-trick inside the opening half hour of the game.

Pulisic CAM – Chelsea - 82 -> 85 Rated: The US men's national team paced to a 7-1 victory against Grenada in Friday night's Concacaf Nations League A. The best player on the field, Pulisic was on fire from the outset, creating danger from the left side and getting rewarded with one goal and three assists. It was simply a sizzling performance from the Chelsea man, who sported the captain's armband in Tyler Adams' injury-related absence.

Cancelo RM – FC Bayern - 89 -> 90 Rated: Portugal recorded a 4-0 win over Liechtenstein in their opening Euro 2024 qualifier on Thursday. Ronaldo celebrated his 197th cap and setted up a new record for the most international caps as he returned to the starting lineuo for their qualifier but instead of Ronaldo I'm going with Cancelo who was heavily involved in nearly everything against Liechtenstein, including a goal.

Forwards

Lukaku ST – Inter Milan - 85 -> 87 Rated: Belgium put down an early statement in Group F of the Euro 2024 Qualifiers ollowing a convincing 3-0 win at Sweden. An efficient Romelu Lukaku hat-trick saw Belgium ease to victory at the Friends Arena on Friday evening, in which we had a glimpse of what to expect under new head coach Tedesco.

Boufal LW – Angers SCO - 77 -> 86 Rated: Morocco was the biggest surprise in last year's World Cup, finishing 4th and they have not slowed down and yet surprised another time. This time they recorded a narrow 2-1 victory over Brazil which was their first ever win against the South American heavy weight and with Boufal scoring the winner and being gold I can see him getting in this week.

Daka ST – Leicester City - 77 -> 86 Rated: The former Chelsea coach Avam Grant led his Chipolopolo side to a 2-0 away win over Lesotho in a Group H of the 2023 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier played in Johannesburg on Sunday. Patson Daka scored both goals and with the lack of strikers available I think he won't miss out.

Substitutes

Ward GK – Leicester City - 75 -> 83 Rated: A last-gasp goal by debutant Nathan Broadhead earned Wales a 1-1 away draw with Croatia in the opening match of the their Euro 2024 Group D qualifying campaign on Saturday. Wales, playing their first match after Bale's retirement, earned this point with an impressive second-half performance and Ward kept his side in the game with a couple of impressive saves.

Krejci CB – Sparta Praha - 76 -> 83 Rated: Czech Republich started their Euro 2024 qualifying path with a 3-1 victory over Poland on Sunday and Krejci, who usually plays CDM at his club, played a bit of an unusual role at centre-back for his country but he seemed to be good with it as he managed to score one of the goals for his side.

Krunic CM – AC Milan - 77 -> 83 Rated: Bosnia and Herzegovina started their 2024 European Championship qualification with a comfortable 3-0 victory at home to Iceland. AC Milan's mdifielder Krunic scored twice for his side and could be in this week.

Ojeda ST– Orlando City - 76 -> 83 Rated: Orlando City SC picked up a narrow 2-1 victory away at Philadelphia, putting more misery on the hosts. Martin Ojeda was the decisive factor for his side, scoring one and assisting another for his side.

McTominay CM – Man United - 80 -> 84 Rated: Scotland beat Cyprus 3-0 in their first Euro 2024 Group A qualifier at Hampden Park on Saturday, backed by a vocal crowd. Second-half substitute Scott McTominay was the hero as he grabbed a double after coming on.

Füllkrug ST – Werder Bremen - 81 -> 85 Rated: In their first match since crashing out of last year's World Cup in the first round, Germany secured a 2-0 victory over Peru where they unusually deployed two strikers with Füllkrug and Werner and Füllkrug showed why he could be the missing piece, scoring both goals for his side.

J. Morris ST – Sounders FC - 82 -> 85 Rated: Jordan Morris has enjoyed some spectacular individual performances throughout his MLS career, but none quite like the one he delivered for Seattle in MLS Matchday 5. The US men's national team forward put on a show at Children's Mercy Park Saturday evening, scoring all four of his team's goals in a 4-1 romp over Western Conference foe Sporting Kansas City, with U22 Initiative signing Leo Chu credited with assists on all four.

Reserves

Torsteinsson LM – OH Leuven - 67 -> 80 Rated: It's not often that defenders get their name on the scoresheet more than once but international breaks are always different. Icelands Gunnarsson scored three times but with him not being in FUT I'm instead including Torsteinsson who also registered a hat-trick, but a hat-trick of assists.

Ogbeta LB – Peterborough - 65 -> 79 Rated: There were only a few domestic leagues in action during international break and with the English lower leagues being included we could probably expect an inform from them. One could be Ogbeta who scored once in Peterborough's 2-0 win against Derby County.

Mafouta ST – Quevilly Rouen - 68 -> 81 Rated: Central African Republic recorded two flawless victories in their AFCOn qualifier games, picking up a 3-0 and 2-0 win. Mafouta scored braces in both games and with the lack of hat-tricks from silvers he should be in this week.

D. Charles ST – Bolton - 66 -> 80 Rated: International breaks are always a good chance for silver players to make it into the side wihtout having to score ha-tricks and the same could happen this week again with Dion Charles who scored twice in Northern Irelands 2-0 against San Marino.

R. Hojlund ST – Bergamo Calcio - 67 -> 80 Rated: Denmark beat Finland 3-1 at the Parken Stadium on Thursday and get their European Championship Group H qualifying campaign off to a winning start thanks to Atalanta's Rasmus Hojlund who scored a hat-trick.
