Goalkeeper
Jose Sá GK – Wolves - 81 -> 85 Rated: Wolves' fight against relegation saw them claim another major scalp at Molineux, beating Tottenham 1-0 on Saturday afternoon thanks to a late strike from Adama Traore. Sa made an excellent save from Kulusevski in the first half and followed it up with a few more in the second half. The Portuguese commanded his area very well too and picked up an 8 match rating for his 6 saves.
Defenders
Mancini CB – Roma FC - 81 -> 87 Rated: On Sunday, the Olimpico Stadium hosted the most-anticipated tilt of the Calcio weekend, as Roma and Juventus clashed heads in the Italian capital. Although the Bianconeri had the biggest share of scoring opportunities, Gianluca Mancini’s long-range strike sealed the win in favor of the hosts and picked up Man of the Match with a 7.5 from Gazzetta.
De Ligt CB – FC Bayern - 88 -> 89 Rated: Bayern Munich earned a 2-1 win away to VfB Stuttgart on Saturday evening to climb back to the top of the Bundesliga table. Despite facing a late scare, Julian Nagelsmann’s side managed to claim the three points and moved back to the top of the table thanks to the better goal difference. De Ligt opened the scoring with a strike from long-range and also made a goal line clearance later in the game to make sure his side kept the 3 points.
Fofana CB – Chelsea FC - 79 -> 84 Rated: The pressure on Graham Potter was temporarily eased on Saturday as Chelsea secured a 1-0 victory over Leeds United at Stamford Bridge. Wesley Fofana actually managed to score a goal and ended Chelsea’s 400+ minute goal drought. He rose highest to head in Ben Chilwell’s corner in the 53rd minute. A strong showing on the right side of defence, where he looked dangerous going forward at set plays and in open play.
Midfielders
Emre Can CDM – Borussia Dortmund - 82 -> 85 Rated: Borussia Dortmund held on to claim a dramatic 2-1 win over RB Leipzig and maintain their perfect start to 2023 with now 10 wins out of 10 games. Can had a difficult start to the game, and failed to keep up with Nkunku early on. But luckily for him, the French forward wasn’t able to hit the target. He found his rhythm after that and made sure that he did not give RB Leipzig an inch in the middle of the park. The midfielder marshalled the BVB defence with great resolve, and also scored what proved to be the winning goal with his deflected effort.
Vecino CM – Latium - 77 -> 83 Rated: 327 days after the last time, Napoli have lost a game at home in Serie A and the twist of fate is that the defeat came by the hand of former coach Maurizio Sarri. Lazio were a bit lucky not to concede before and the only and game-winning goal then came from Vecino who unleashed a longe-range missile to earn his side all three points.
Mac Allister
CAM – Brighton - 76 -> 86 Rated:
The Seagulls produced one of the finest performances of the season, beating West Ham 4-0 and increased pressure on West Ham manager David Moyes as his team remain far to close to the relegation zone. Picked up where he left off after his strong performance against Stoke with a marauding performance from midfield. He dispatched his penalty effort with aplomb, was at the heart of Brighton's best attacks, and had a swagger about him as well.
Otavio LM – FC Porto - 84 -> 87 Rated: FC Porto recorded another victory and kept in touch with Benfica although it's unlikely Benfica will give away their 8 point lead on top of the table. Otavio could pick up his second inform this week after he scored one and assisted another in their 3-1 against Chaves.
Forwards
Diaby CF – Leverkusen - 86 -> 88 Rated: Bayer Leverkusen kept their bid for European football alive with a dominant 4-1 win over Hertha Berlin on Sunday. French attacker Moussa Diaby was involved in everything his side was doing in attack and it was no surprise he put his name on the scoresheet more than once, finishing the game with a goal and an assist and picked up Man of the Match.
Salah RW – Liverpool - 92 -> 93 Rated: Liverpool thumped arch rivals Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday, beating the Red Devils 7-0 thanks to brilliant performances from their front three. Salah was Liverpool's most dangerous attacker for most of the match and caused real problems for Shaw. Turned Martinez inside out for the third goal and scored emphatically to grab the fourth. Scored a tap-in for sixth and is now Liverpools all-time scorer.
Griezmann ST – Atletico de Madrid - 87 -> 89 Rated: The Rojiblancos drilled Sevilla and moved into third place with a thrashing 6-1 victory at home on Saturday. Griezmann assisted Memphis’s first goal on the night with a perfectly-weighted ball to his former FC Barcelona teammate. In the 53rd minute, Griezmann scored a worldie of his own with a long shot into the top left corner. The pink-haired striker floated (what should have been counted as) his second assist of the night into Álvaro Morata, who walked the ball into the net on 76 minutes. Involved in 5 of the 6 goals on the night, a masterclass from the Frenchman.
Substitutes
Rönnow GK – Union Berlin - 75 -> 83 Rated: Union Berlin lost further ground in the Bundesliga title race after being held to a goalless draw by Cologne. Cologne overall was the more dangerous side but Union could say thanks to their goalie Rönnow who made a total of 5 saves to keep Unions perfect home record this season.
Dodo RB – Fiorentina - 75 -> 83 Rated: Milan suffered a 2-1 defeat away to Fiorentina after goals from Nicolas Gonzalez and Luka Jovic helped hand the Viola victory at the Stadio Artemio Franchi on Saturday night. Right-back Dodo recorded an assist vs Milan and made a couple of important tackles to help his side picking up 3 important points.
Coronado CAM – Al-Ittihad - 77 -> 83 Rated: Ronaldo recently took the headlines in the Saudi League but not this time. Al-Ittihad kept pace with Al-Nassr with a 3-0 victory against Al-Khaleej and Coronado assisted two of the goals and could be in this week.
Zelarayan LW– Columbus Crew - 79 -> 84 Rated: Columbus Crew recorded their first win of the season, beating DC United with 2-0, after they lost their season opener to Philadelphia. Zelarayan was the main man that day as he scored both of the goals for his side. J. Molina
ST – Granada CF - 78 -> 84 Rated:
Granada continued their good run in La Liga 2 and remains in for promotion back to the spanish top-flight after recording a 3-0 victory against Burgos. Jorge Molina proved he can still score as he finished the game with two goals and also provided an assist for his side's third.
Mikautadze ST – FC Metz - 77 -> 83 Rated: FC Metz made it back-to-back Ligue 2 wins with a 3-0 over mit-table side Annecy and Mikautadze could pick up his really good looking second inform after he scored twice and assisted the third goal.
Reserves
Smallbone
CAM – Stoke City - 67 -> 80 Rated:
Stoke City ran riot against Sunderland on Saturday, recording a 5-1 win. Smallbone was superb. Great work for the opener, playing a one-two with Brown as he sprinted to the by-line to find Laurent. Critical work in second half too and so useful on counter.
Saleng
LW – Orlando Pirates - 65 -> 79 Rated:
A league which can easily be overlooked in predictions is the Premiership in South Africa and we should see a player coming from this one this week. Saleng scored a hat-trick in Orlando Pirates's
4-1 win away to Moroka Swallows.
Daramy
LW – FC Kobenhavn - 69 -> 81 Rated:
Kobenhavn recorded a trashing 7-0 at home against Odense BK on Sunday and with Daramy scoring twice and assisting another he should be in this week.
Sesko
ST – RB Salzburg - 72 -> 81 Rated:
RB Salzburg continued their streak in the Bundesliga, recording a 4-2 victory away at Rapid. It was hard work tho and they had to wait until the second half of the game and Sesko's hat-trick after he got subbed on to take all three points.
Diagne ST – Karagümrük SK - 74 -> 81 Rated: Fatih Karagumruk recorded their second straight league win after the restart, beating Sivasspor at home with 4-3. Diagne was the star of the show as he was involved in all four goals, scoring three and assisting another.
