FIFA 19 TOTW Predictions - Week 45

Last week's score: 14/23
Formation: 3-4-1-2
Squad Link:

Koen Casteels - ST - OVR 83 I seriously struggled with the goalkeepers this week and as a result, am not confident with either selection. But with Casteels being named both keeper of the week and MOTM in his match, there is a chance that EA will go for him, despite only making two saves in a 1-1 draw.

Capa - RB - OVR 78 I was wrong on the Capa punt a couple of weeks ago but once again the Spanish defender impressed. He chipped in with another assist in Atletic Bilbao's 2-0 home win over Sociedad and this time hopefully will be awarded an IF come Wednesday.

Jannik Vestergaard - CB - OVR 80 Defenders were difficult to select this week and thus I have taken several punts on them, one being Vestergaard after Southampton managed to hold Man United to a 1-1 draw with 10 men. Vestergaard was the man to level the score and then managed to help Southampton keep hold of the point after the sending off.

Benjamin Pavard - RB - OVR 80 After Pavard was awarded an average match rating I was put off a little but how often does a defender with a goal and an assist miss out from the top divisions? Especially when it's a top-end club and so for that reason, I just had to include the French defender.

Richarlison - RM - OVR 80 It's been a while since we have seen Richarlison at his best but when he is, he is often among the goals. He managed two this weekend against Wolves as Everton claimed all three points via a 3-2 home win.

Parejo - CM - OVR 86 La Liga offered very few options and thus I am happy to take a punt on Parejo being forced in as a result of his two penalties, after all, you still need to put them away. and with Valencia winning 2-0 those goals were vital to the result.

Yuya Osako - CAM - OVR 75 Another low rated Bundesliga midfielder now with Osako, The Japenese CAM was vital for Werder Bremen in their narrow 3-2 win over Augsburg, scoring two of those three goals.

Douglas Costa - RW - OVR 86 With Juventus managing a 4-3 win in their seven-goal thriller with Napoli I expect that EA will be awarding them an IF. There are two options the first of course being the selected Costa with the Brazilian providing the assist on two of those goals. The second, who narrowly missed out is Higuain, who scored twice. It looks as though Costa was the official MOTM though and thus I can't look much further than that.

Sergio Aguero - ST - OVR 89 It was another superb performance from the Argentine striker, once again proving why he should be classed as one of the all time greats in the Premier League. Aguero scored twice alongside setting up Bernardo Silva's goal to help secure a comfortable 4-0 win for City over Brighton.

Jamie Vardy - ST - OVR 82 Leicester maintained their unbeaten start to the season with a comfortable 3-1 win over Bournemouth. A familiar face was in the limelight with Vardy scoring twice and assisting another in that win. Tielemans also impressed but Vardy will inevitably be picking up the IF here.

Timo Werner - ST - OVR 84 There have been a lot of Timo Werner special items already this year but after the German scored a hat trick this weekend I can see another one being on the way. His three goals came in a 3-1 away win over Gladbach and he was awarded player of the week as a result.

Pau Lopez - GK - OVR 82 Another goalkeeper punt from a 1-1 draw now with Lopez who picked up MOTM for his six saves in Roma's 1-1 draw with rivals Lazio. I seriously struggled for this spot and expect another completely random keeper to feature.

Romain Thomas - CB - OVR 76 When a defender picks up an 8/10 from L'Equipe they are always going to walk into my side, so despite Thomas just having a clean sheet to his name on paper during Angers 2-0 win that 8/10 puts him high up in the pecking order of defenders this week.

Ellyes Skhiri - CM - OVR 76 Another new signing looks to be on their way to an IF with Skhiri, who has made his way from Ligue 1 to play for Koln in the Bundesliga. The Tunisian was involved in both Koln's goals during their 2-1 win over Freiburg, which saw him claim a 1.5 match rating from Kicker.

Omar Kharbin - CAM - OVR 75 Over to Saudi Arabia now with Kharbin, who picked up high match ratings after scoring twice and assisting another in Al-Hilal's 5-0 away win. I believe he played in the deeper CAM role however my Saudi positions are often slightly wrong.

Dusan Tadic - ST - OVR 80 This ones a bit of a punt considering that Tadic scored just the once but with an additional two assists to his name he went on to claim POTW in the Dutch league and thus is forced into my side.

Domenico Berardi - ST - OVR 78 When Berardi turns up he is often unplayable, it's just a shame that he can't stay close to that level on a regular basis. He showed signs of his best this weekend with the Italian scoring three goals in Sassulo's 4-1 win over Sampdoria.

Islam Slimani - ST - OVR 78 We didn't hear as much of Slimani while he was playing over in Turkey but now that he is over in France we almost instantly have him included in TOTW again. That is after the Algerian scored both Monaco's goals in a 2-2 draw. A MOTM performance which saw him claim the joint highest rating of the week.

Daniel Cleary - CB - OVR 64 It's not often that we see an Irish division player feature for anything less than a hat trick bt with Cleary scoring twice from defence alongside keeping a clean sheet he makes a strong case to make this weeks side.

Roberto Torres - RM - OVR 73 Both Barcelona and Real Madrid could only manage a point this weekend with both matches finishing 2-2. The more surprising result of the two came with Osasuna holding Barcelona though. I expect an IF as a result of that and with Torres scoring both their goals there is only one option.

Jaroslaw Niezgoda - ST - OVR 69 Yet again we look set for a Polish league striker to feature in TOTW, which looks to be the normality as things stand. This week it goes to Niezgoda after he scored all three of Legia's goals in a 3-1 win.

Stefan Mugosa - ST - OVR 69 Mugosa was involved in a 3-3 draw which could harm his chances but when you consider that he scored all three of his side's goals I think the fact it ended a draw can be overlooked. Especially when options are limited for this side.

Marco Gruttner - ST - OVR 71 Ending the week as we usually do, with a hat trick. Gruttner was awarded player of the week in the second division of Germany for his treble during Regensburg's easy 5-0 away win over Wehen.
