FIFA 19 Team of the Week 41 Predictions

Last week's score: 12/18
Formation: 3-4-1-2

Tim Melia - GK - OVR 74 Once again, goalkeepers were extremely difficult to select this week; thus I have had to take a punt on both of them. Melia is the first of those, who picked up Man of the Match in Kansas City's 1-0 away win over Colombus Crew, making four saves in order to keep a clean sheet.

Wang Shenchao - CB - OVR 67 There are a few players which could get the nod from Shanghai's 3-0 home win, but with a lack of defensive options, I feel as though it's then difficult to overlook Shenchao. He not only kept a clean sheet, but also provided the assist on two of the three goals.

Simen Wangberg - CB - OVR 69 Usually with my selections from Norway, I am confident upon the picks. But after Wangberg was not officially the MOTM, this one does come without risk. That being said, in a week like this, a CB which scores once and keeps a clean sheet in a 1-0 win is a difficult option to ignore.

Naoki Ishikawa - CB - OVR 63 Annoyingly Lucas Fernandes is not IG, as his two assists from RWB would have seen him locked on for this side. The J-League offered very little in terms of options though, and thus I have taken the punt on an alternative player in Ishikawa, who scored one of their three goals in a 3-1 win.

Dominique Badji - LM - OVR 67 I would be surprised to see anyone with more than a goal miss out this week, especially when you ignore the attackers. Dallas came away with a 3-0 win when hosting Toronto, with Badji scoring two of those three from LM.

Jonathan Viera - CAM - OVR 82 Once again it was Augusto who picked up the official MOTM for Beijing Guoan. But I still believe it is too close to his previous IF for him to get in again. Viera picked up two assists in the same match though and thus the Spaniard looks set to pick up his SIF instead.

Diego Valeri - CAM - OVR 80 When the main player in your prediction is Diego Valeri, you know that the hype is going to be fairly minimal. But with it being his third IF, he is at least a semi-usable item and with a goal and two assists to his name it looks as though its set to happen.

Federico Cartabia - RM - OVR 76 After Nadal managed to get an IF last week, obviously the fact that Deportivo failed to progress over two legs shouldn't hurt Cartabia here. The Argentine scored one of two goals in their first leg 2-0 win over Mallorca, claiming MOTM in the process.

Sandro Wagner - ST - OVR 78 After several years playing in the Bundesliga, Wagner decided to make the move over to China and now plays for Tianjin Teda. The German striker has made a good impression early on, scoring twice in their 2-1 home win over Shandong, making him an easy choice for the side.

Emmanuel Boateng - ST - OVR 76 Another player to make the move to China was ex-Levante striker Boateng. The Ghanaian was also within the goals, scoring twice in a 2-2 draw. He also scored an own goal, but with him being a Gold option, I expect EA to overlook that and include him in TOTW 41.

Alan Kardec - ST - OVR 76 Making it three from three for Chinese Super League strikers this week is Alan Kardec. The Brazilian scored twice, once being from the spot as Lifan went on to beat Wuhan 3-2 away from home. I have included a lot of options from this division this week, but with it being one of the main leagues in action, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case on Wednesday.

Yu Sang Hun - GK - OVR 64 I am not entirely sure how accurate this statistic is as I had to translate Korean in order to get there. But as far as I can tell, Yu Sang Ho made an impressive 12 saves to help Seoul pick up all three points. Although he also conceded with a tally as high as that in a 2-1 win, there is no doubt that he has a strong case to be making the eventual side.

Fredrik Nordkvelle - CM - OVR 66 Odd put early pressure on Molde with a 3-1 win over Haugesund, moving them just three points behind the current leaders with two games in hand over them. Nordkvelle picked up two of those three goals from CM, and this is a relatively easy selection for this side.

Wanderson - CM - OVR 63 Although its rare that a player will get included from the losing side, it has happened in the past. Usually, it's when a hat trick is scored. Wanderson falls into that category, and with the Brazilian also doing it from midfield, I expect that it will be enough for him despite Pohang losing, 5-4.

Gilbert Koomson - RM - OVR 69 Brann has made an impressive start to the season sitting in 4th after 13 matches with 21 points. Their latest victory came as a result of a Koomson goal allowing them to beat Lillestrom 1-0. The Ghanian picked up MOTM with a 7/10, which stands out among few options.

Ante Budimir - ST - OVR 70 Remarkably Mallorca managed to overcome a 2-0 deficit after the first leg to come back and win 3-0. As a result, they will be playing in La Liga next season. I expect an IF to come due to that and with limited options, Budimir could make the cut despite only scoring once. This one could easily be a Hero item as well.

Wei Shihao - ST - OVR 71 With just the 37 games to choose from this week, it was always going to be difficult to fill the side. Thus players get the nod for far less than it would usually take. This could work in Shihao's favour, after his goal and assist allowed Guangzhou to come away with a 2-1 win.

Leke James - ST - OVR 69 Although I correctly predicted the Molde addition last week, it was a punt. But it looks as though the Molde IF trend is set to continue after James scored three times for the Norwegian side. They went on to secure a comfortable 4-0 win away to Stromsgodset.
