FIFA 19 Team of the Week 38 Predictions

Last week's score: 13/23
Formation: 3-4-1-2

Fernando - GK - OVR 65 I looked for a gold goalkeeping option for some time, but in the end, simply couldn't justify one over the two options I have ended up with. Most the Segunda División games were postponed this weekend, but Las Palmas against Almeria went ahead, which ended 0-0. Fernando made a total of seven saves and deservedly so picked up MOTM for doing so.

Hong Chul - LB - OVR 69 When you see a 69 rated K-League LB in the starting line-up for a TOTW prediction you know it's going to be a rough week. Hong Chul gts the nod after providing the assist on two goals alongside keeping a clean sheet which considering what there was to choose from should easily be enough for him.

Michael Murillo - RB - OVR 70 Although NYRB's ran away with a 4-0 win, the MOTM award still went the way of their RB after Murillo scored one of those four goals alongside his defensive duties. I expect a fair few IFs to come the way of the MLS with it being one of the bigger leagues still in action. The first of which predicted is Murillo.

Geoffrey Treand - LWB - OVR 65 After losing the first leg 4-0 in looked all but over for Xamax in their relegation playoff match against Aarau but remarkably they managed to progress, winning the second leg 4-0 before going on to win on penalties. Treand was involved in three of those goals, scoring once and assisting another two as well as slotting home his penalty in the shootout.

Naim Sliti - LW - OVR 76 We seemingly debate the chance of certain games counting towards TOTW on a weekly basis now and once again we find ourselves in that situation with a French relegation/promotion playoff match. With the lack of options available to myself, I have opted to take the chance on it counting though, especially with Sliti being an obvious choice after scoring twice to save Dijon.

Carles Gil - CM - OVR 75 A familiar name for regular English football watchers with Gil, the ex Aston Villa midfielder now plays his football over in the MLS for New England. The Spaniard provided the assist on both of their goals in their latest match which resulted in the away side beating LA Galaxy 2-1.

Renato Augusto - CM - OVR 81 I am seriously surprised that Augusto has failed to pick up a special item this season thus far with the Brazilian consistently performing for Beijing. Now that the competition for places is significantly lower his goal and assist should make him a sure thing come Wednesday.

Sebastian Larsson - CM - OVR 70 Larsson was always known for his set-piece ability while playing his trade over in England, specifically with Sunderland, now over in his home country of Sweden, he is seemingly ending his career with AIK. He looks set to pick up his first IF for them after scoring both their goals in a 2-0 win.

Viktor Tsygankov - RM - OVR 79 With this being Tsygankov's third special item of the year should it happen it means that he would be one of the highest rated items in this side and after scoring twice in Kyiv's 2-0 away win it looks as though it will be something to happen.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic - ST - OVR 85 It was always going to be difficult for EA to promote this side with it being the first one after the main 5 all finish their domestic campaigns, so given the opportunity with Ibrahimovic, I expect them to take it. The Swede scored once and assisted another to claim MOTM in Galaxy's 2-0 win over Kansas, which I can see being enough for them to force him in.

Josef Martinez - ST - OVR 82 With the quality of leagues in action, Martinez will likely be one of the stand out names in this specific side with the Atlanta striker scoring twice in a 3-0 win for them. He has been snubbed on multiple occasions recently for TOTW but now without the big five in action, he is seemingly locked on, especially after then scoring another two in the same week.

Zhang Lie - GK - OVR 67 We are now onto the sides from which goalkeepers are usually pure luck for if you can correctly predict one. Lie was the only one that stood out for me this week, after making eight saves in total to keep his clean sheet.

John Mountney - RM - OVR 62 The only hat trick to be scored this week came in the Irish division with Mountney scoring three goals for Dundalk in their 4-0 win. As with a couple of players in this prediction, I am not 100% on the position but I believe it was from RM.

Moon Seon Min - LM - OVR 67 From a predicting standpoint, the Korean league was usually an easy one to select from with a clear rating system in place but since the update for the K-League page, those ratings seemingly don't exist. Seon Min looks a strong option to make the cut through after scoring twice for Jeonbuk as they went on to pick up all three points.

Yang Liyu - RM - OVR 54 The Chinese league was rather disappointing when it came to IF options this week with it being one of the leagues with the bigger names in action. One player that did stand out, however, was Yang Liyu, with the Chinse midfielder scoring once and assisting another two in Guangzhou's 5-2 away win.

Takefusa Kubo - RM - OVR 63 I am not sure how EA is going to approach this side at all but going from last week I don't think that the gold influence will factor in that much, especially with TOTS still running. Kubo is another bronze option who looks like a strong candidate for the side after scoring twice from RM in a 3-1 win.

Edgar - RW - OVR 68 Edgar usually plays in an ST role but from what I could find he operated as an RW this week. Regardless of the position he played, I do expect him to feature in TOTW though after he ended up scoring both Daegu goals in a 2-0 away win over Pohang.

Shun Nagasawa - ST - OVR 67 Usually, the requirement for silver strikers is a minimum of three goals but that is anything but the case now and two goals now puts you high in the pecking order for selection. The J-League offered very few options with the majority of matches ending 1-1 but with Nagasawa scoring twice he should make the side.
