Goalkeeper

Regis Gurtner - GK - OVR 77 When it comes to goalkeepers, the amount of predictions released with a Ligue 1 keeper is ridiculous and once again we follow the trend. This time we have Amiens stopper, Gurtner, after he made a total of four saves, one of which was a penalty, in their 0-0 draw.

Defenders

Stefan De Vrij - CB - OVR 84 With Inter beating rivals, AC Milan 3-2 away from home there was always going to be an IF from the match. That decision was far from an easy one to make though with several contenders. I believe it is easy enough to narrow down to two players with De Vrij scoring one of their three getting the nod from me but equally Martinez's goal and assist from ST could also see him included.

Mario Fernandes - RWB - OVR 81 The RPL is often a difficult league to predict from with various issues in the past but CSKA are often a safe bet. Fernandes scored the only goal of the game from RWB, picking up MOTM for doing so. A win which allowed CSKA to close the gap at the top to just five points.

Alex Telles - LB - OVR 84 I am surprised that Telles is still yet to pick up an IF this season with the Brazilian playing for Porto alongside being an attacking threat it often leaves the door open for him to be included. With a goal and assist to his name this week during Porto's 3-0 home win I would be very surprised to see him still without an IF come Wednesday.

Midfielders

Richarlison - LM - OVR 80 With a lack of Premier League games in action, it was always likely to be the case of taking a punt or two and that is exactly what we have here. The shock result of the weekend came as Everton managed a 2-0 win over Chelsea. Sigurdsson and Richarlison were the two with the goals and with Sigurdsson's being a rebounded penalty alongside the fact Richarlison owns an OTW item I am happy to punt the Brazilian here.

Max Kruse - CAM - OVR 82 Kruse only narrowly missed out on my prediction last week but he is one of the first names on my sheet this time around with the German consistently performing to a high level as of late, with the most convincing performance thus far coming with two goals and an assist in Werder Bremen's 3-1 away win over Leverkusen.

Luis Alberto - CM - OVR 82 Another player with two goals and one assist from midfield was Lazio's Luis Alberto, with Lazio running away as 4-1 winners over Parma. The Spaniard was awarded a 7.5 from Gazzetta which with a lot of difficult calls from the division, especially makes him stand out.

Portu - RM - OVR 80 Without Stuani and Portu I am scared to think about the difference in Girona's season with both being crucial in their wins. It was the Spaniards turn when travelling to Lleganes, scoring both Girona's goals in their 2-0 win.

Forwards

Angel Di Maria - ST - OVR 84 Di Maria continues to impress in a newly found CF role with a potential fifth special item of the year now on the way for the Argentine player. He was involved in all three of PSG's goals in their 3-1 win over Marseille. A performance which saw Marca award him with a huge 9/10 match rating.

Wayne Rooney - ST - OVR 80 Rooney has been nothing short of a revelation to DC since joining the American outlet, turning their season around last year. That form has continued and as has DC's form, sitting top after their opening three fixtures. Rooney was heavily involved this week, scoring three and assisting another in their 5-0 home win over RSL

Javier Hernandez - ST - OVR 79 With Huddersfield leading 3-1 away at West Ham midway through the second half it looked as though they were going to pick up a crucial three points as they look to cling onto their time in the Premier League. West Ham had other ideas though with Ogbonna pulling one back in the 75th minute before Hernandez came off the bench to score in both the 84th and 91st minutes, all but putting Huddersfield down.

Substitutes

Marco Bizot - GK - OVR 75 When Ajax lose we often see an IF from the opposing side and we have seen that in play recently with them dropping a few points. This time around it was a 1-0 loss to AZ and Bizot claimed player of the week for his performance in that win, making a total of seven saves in order to keep his clean sheet.

Martin Hinteregger - CB - OVR 77 The bench defender seemingly picked itself with Hinteregger claiming MOTM with a 2.0 for scoring the only goal of the game in Frankfurt's 1-0 win over Nurnberg.

Romain Hamouma - RM - OVR 77 Onto another easy selection from the French leagues, we have Hamouma, coming from St Etienne's 5-0 win over Caen from which he scored once and assisted another two, seeing him claim the second highest match rating of the week with an 8/10.

Luis Quinones - LM - OVR 75 With two Quinones's playing for Tigres, one on either flank it was a difficult read with both performing well. Jhon picked up two goals in the 4-1 win but narrowly misses out in favour of Luis who picked up three of the assists.

Karl Toko-Ekambi - ST - OVR 80 There were a couple of options when it came to strikers from BBVA and with a lack of options from the division as a whole I expect one if not two to end up making the cut. Ekambi looks to be the favourite after scoring twice in Villarreal's 3-1 win with Marca awarding him three stars.

Abderrazak Hamdallah - ST - OVR 74 Unfortunately, due to both league and nationality, Hamdallah would simply fall under a super sub-option, which upon his inevitable third IF on Wednesday is actually a viable option. Hamdallah's attacking contributions are nothing short of ridiculous and he continues to shine week in week out, adding another four goals to his tally on Saturday.

Wout Weghorst- ST - OVR 77 Weghorst was undoubtedly the player of the week in Germany, as shown with Kicker's perfect 1 match rating but probably as a whole, he was the most impressive in the side this week. The Dutchman scored three and assisted another two during Wolfsburg's 5-2 home win, dominating from start to finish.

Reserves

Mohamed Fares - LB - OVR 69 There were several shock results in Italy this week but not all of them were easy for IF selections. It is unusual for a non-gold defender to get the nod for just a goal, especially when they also conceded but with a huge 8 match rating from Gazzetta and the fact it was against Roma I can see Fares sneaking in.

Laszlo Benes - CM - OVR 69 We have seen a trend of midfielders claiming both two goals and two assists in recent weeks and that now continues with Benes, who is on loan from Gladbach managing it for Holstein Klein in their 5-1 home win over Aue.

Karol Linetty - CM - OVR 76 It was a weak week for both silver and bronze options and because of that, I have opted for an additional two golds, the first being Linetty who grabbed both a goal and an assist in Sampdoria's 5-3 thriller.

Goran Pandev - ST - OVR 75 Just as it looked like nothing could go wrong for Juventus, who were still unbeaten heading into their away match with Genoa, they finally ended up losing a match. Of all people possible it was Goran Pandev who dealt the blows, picking up both a goal and an assist from the bench.

Florian Aye - ST - OVR 65 It was a must-win game for Clermont who travelled away to bottom-placed Red Star, as they continued to push for a playoff spot. They managed to come away with a more than convincing 4-0 win from which Aye played a huge role in, scoring three times alongside grabbing the assist on the other.
