Last week's score: 16/23
Squad Link: https://www.futhead.com/19/squads/479801/
Sergio Asenjo - GK - OVR 84 Literally every other game in La Liga this week had a goalkeeping option from the match, a couple either had both keepers, which made predicting them extremely difficult. In the end I opted for Asenjo after he was awarded three stars for making five saves in Villarreal's 0-0 draw with Eibar.
Mamadou Sakho - CB - OVR 80 I am sure that many predictions will contain PVA for his assist in Palace's 2-0 win over Wolves but it was another Palace defender which was officially awarded the MOTM award with Sakho claiming the accolade. The French CB was vital in keeping the clean sheet, regaining possession for Palace more than any other player on the pitch.
Raul - CB - OVR 80 During a normal week I would have instantly discarded Raul due to a poor match rating but with the lack of options being a real problem this week can I really ignore a gold CB with one goal and a clean sheet. The short answer is no. I also don't think that EA have enough options to be able to avoid him while keeping 18 golds, which is needed for FUT Champs.
Jesus Navas - RWB - OVR 78 This spot could quite easily go to Vaclik who was fantastic between the sticks and rightfully so claimed three stars from MARCA but with so many goalkeeping options and a limited supply of defenders I have opted for the other player who picked up three stars from MARCA in Navas, of whom debateably played RWB
Santi Cazorla - LM - OVR 80 Although Cazorla's second IF will be the same rating as his Futmas item it will look completely different due to the amazing upgrades EA gave him on both Physical and Pace. Not to mention the fact that this SIF is likely to be an LM, utterly making him worthless outside of SBC's. Either way, Cazorla was simply magnificent scoring twice in Villarreal's 2-2 draw with Real Madrid.
Fernandinho - CM - OVR 86 Liverpool was always likely to lose their unbeaten record with only Arsenal managing to complete the task previously and it was City who took the points while hosting them on Thursday. Liverpool still remains title favorites with a four-point gap at the top but it will certainly fill City with hope. I expect an IF from the match and with no clear candidate I feel that the safe bet is to go for the MOTM, which in this case was Fernandinho.
Christian Eriksen - CM - OVR 88 It's inevitable that we are going to see several "random" inclusions this week and with a lack of big names I can see Eriksen making the cut for his goal. The Danish midfielder also picked up MOTM and although we have TOTY running alongside this side there has to be a big name or two.
Granit Xhaka - CM - OVR 81 Another CM with the potential of a SIF for just the one goal is Xhaka. Although Aubameyang was MOTM. I can't see an IF going his way for just the one goal but with Xhaka, who doesn't score many goals he stands out instead. Should he get this IF it comes under similar circumstances to his previous one?
Marko Arnautovic - ST - OVR 82 It's clear to see that Arnautovic changes West Ham as a side with his constant goal threat, one which they have severely missed while the Austrian was out injured. Coming back into the side at home to Brighton he made an instant impact scoring in both the 66th and 68th minutes in order to help the hammers come from two behind to come away with a point.
Jamie Vardy - ST - OVR 82 We have seen that EA are not afraid to include strikers for just the one goal, with it happening on multiple occasions in recent weeks. I am predicting that another will occur on Wednesday with Vardy claiming MOTM for his goal. With the striker being a popular option and yet to pick up an IF he becomes a good opportunity for EA.
Troy Deeney - ST - OVR 77 Bournemouth are a side which you never know what's coming in terms of performances with several high scoring matches coming from the Cherries so far this season. While hosting Watford was the most recent occasion with both sides scoring three in a 3-3 draw. Deeney was involved in all three of Watford's goals with two goals and one assist to his name.
Geronimo Rulli - GK - OVR 81 Sociedad were the latest side to add misery to Real Madrid's simply horrific season with a 2-0 away win. Rulli was fantastic between the sticks, making a total of eight saves to keep his clean sheet intact and was rightfully awarded MOTM for doing so. Willian Jose is also a valid option with both a goal and assist but Rulli has to be the frontrunner.
Eder Militao - CB - OVR 75 A very nice positional change over in Portugal looks to be on the way with Militao scoring the only goal in Porto's 1-0 win over Aves while playing in a CB role rather than the usual FIFA position of fullback. Due to this, he has reasonable pace and with him being a Brazilian, he will be easy to link.
Tomas Pina - CM - OVR 76 Alaves have without a doubt been the surprise package in Spain this season and actually sit above Real Madrid in the table, speaking wonders of what they have managed so far. Mina is a punt considering that he only scored the one goal but with three stars from Marca in a 2-1 win, it's a realistic punt to take.
Ryan Fraser - LM - OVR 75 It's rare that we see two IF's from different sides and there's a high probability that Fraser will also be snubbed but with no other candidates I couldn't ignore a goal and assist from midfield despite Deeney being the obvious choice. Fraser has been fantastic all season for Bournemouth, with his performance helping them to another point.
Haris Seferovic - ST - OVR 73 I am seriously glad that Seferovic already had a previous IF and thus I can include him as a gold in this one as I struggled to fill out the side. Seferovic put in one of the better performances with two goals and an assist in Braga's 4-2 home win over Rio Ave.
Rogelio Funes Mori - ST - OVR 77 Golds were few and far between this week and thus I expect to see so many random additions to the side. With two goals to his name, Argentine striker Funes Mori should walk into the side, especially with the MOTM going his way in a 5-0 win for said brace. A result which gives Monterrey the early league lead.
Ola Toivonen - ST - OVR 75 It's rare that you will see the likes of the A-League pick up more than one IF in a single week but with one of the options coming from a gold in Toivonen I can see it occurring this week. The Swedish striker scored both Victory's goals in their narrow 2-1 win away to Wanderers.
Stole Dimitrievski- GK - OVR 71 It's rare that you see two keepers from the same division included in one side but should all three of my goalkeeping predictions come off I believe it will be the first time we have ever seen three from one division. Dimitrievski is arguably the most convincing selection but at the same time the least likely to become IF due to being silver. That being said with five saves and a penalty save to his name in Vallecano's 1-0 win he is still a strong candidate.
Marcuss Harness - RW - OVR 58 With most English games coming in the form on the FA cup this weekend we were very limited on options outside of midweek. One game that did play was Burton v Rochdale in League 1 and from that, we saw a hat trick, with Harness scoring three times in a 4-0 away win for Burton.
Kamil Grosicki - LM - OVR 74 Hull recorded one of the bigger wins of the week, demolishing Bolton 6-0. If Grosicki was still a gold there would be no debate surrounding his inclusion but seeing as he has dropped to a silver this year he could miss out. With two goals and one assist he still remains as one of the better options though.
Enrique Triverio - ST - OVR 69 Continuing with the hat tricks we head over to Mexico with Toluca's Triverio scored all three of their goals in a 3-1 win over Monarcas. With it being the opening gameweek for Mexico I do expect a few IF's to come from their matches and Triverio is an easy one to foresee.
Alex Brosque - ST - OVR 67 With the limited games to select from this week any player with three goals to their name will inevitably be included in the side and thus we have Brosque who scored three of Sydney's five goals in their 5-2 home win over Central Coast.
