FIFA 19 Team of the Week 5 Predictions

Last week's score: 14/23
Formation: 3-4-1-2
Squad Link:

Hugo Lloris - GK - OVR 88 I almost didn't go with this one simply due to the fact of predicting his in-form last week but that can't be a justifiable factor even if it is once again a bit of a punt on my behalf. France will be disappointed with their 2-2 draw against Iceland, but at 2-0 down, it could have been worse. Lloris makes the cut for making a total of 7 saves including an impressive quadruple save; yes that’s right, four consecutive saves to deny Iceland from finding the net.

Alex Sandro - LB - OVR 86 Whether EA will decide to include friendlies or not is a question we just can't answer right now but I believe that they will and if they do we have a very strong LB on the way with Alex Sandro. The Brazilian scored late on in the game to secure a 2-0 win for Brazil over Saudi Arabia.

Virgil Van Dijk - CB - OVR 85 The Dutch national side has had several questions asked about their side over the past few years but sent a statement out with a comfortable 3-0 win at home to Germany this week. Van Dijk looks to be the obvious candidate after scoring one of those three goals.

Eric Bailly - CB - OVR 82 Finishing off a superb back three we have Eric Bailly. The African Cup of Nations were the only international matches I would class as meaning something and thus matches from them should be given preference, whether that happens or not is another question though. Bailly scored once and helped keep a clean sheet as Ivory Coast recorded a 4-0 win.

Raheem Sterling - RW - OVR 85 It wouldn't be an international break without that England IF but for once it is fully deserved, England recorded an impressive win over Spain with the damage being done in the first half. Both Kane and Rashford also deserve a mention but the IF has to go the way of Sterling after he scored twice from what I believe is RW.

Carlos Vela - CAM - OVR 81 As is usually the case with international weeks an MLS player or two sneaks into the side. This time Vela is the clear favourite to do so after he scored twice and assisted another two in a 4-2 win for Los Angeles FC. With the inevitable MLS Player of the Week award coming his way he looks to be nailed on.

Idrissa Gueye - CDM - OVR 82 This one is questionable with limited data available on the match and even the highlights showing very little but what I am certain about is Gueye scoring one of Senegal's three goals in their 3-0 win. There is a potential assist on the third goal, but I can't say that is a 100% but if it is he is nailed on for this side. Even without that assist he does stand a chance though and thus I am willing to take the punt.

Ole Kristian Selnaes - CM - OVR 75 Continuing the midfield with another with a singular goal is Selnaes, the Norwegian CM scored the only goal of the game as they scraped a 1-0 win against Slovenia.

James Rodriguez - RM - OVR 88 There were a few Colombian options for this side but with so many defensive options already available to me alongside the match only being a friendly I have to opt for the big name in James Rodriguez. Unfortunately, he did play out wide but with a magnificent goal with an assist to go alongside it I can see him making the side.

Romelu Lukaku - ST - OVR 87 Should this happen I am confident that Lukaku will become one of the best strikers in FIFA so far. The Belgian scored both Belgium’s goals in a narrow 2-1 win over Switzerland which makes me believe that an IF Lukaku is on the way. Arguably the perfect striker for this game.

Edin Dzeko - ST - OVR 85 Striker spots outside of the low golds were difficult to fill so when Dzeko hit a brace on Monday evening during Bosnia's win over Northern Ireland he walked straight into the side, completing what is one of the stronger starting elevens you could see feature in one side all year. Obviously without the likes of Ronaldo and Messi.

Guilherme - GK - OVR 78 Goalkeepers were the hardest position to fill by a long shot this week and although Neustadter scored one of only two goals in a 2-0 win from CB, due to him being silver I am instead opting for Guilherme. It is ow confirmed that RPL can pick up IFs again if there was any doubt remaining after they also picked up OTW items and the Russians five saves in that 2-0 makes him one of the better goalkeeping selections this week.

Cristiano Biraghi - LB - OVR 75 It all looked set to be a 0-0 draw in the Italy v Poland fixture, a result which would have seen both sides eliminated from their nations group but in the 91st minute up popped Biraghi to secure the three points with a late winner.

Francois Kamano - LW - OVR 75 For the second time this year already, I am predicting a player to pick up an IF twice in a row, last time with Sarabia I was wrong so hopefully the same doesn’t occur here. Kamano picked up a goal and assist, this time during AFCON qualifiers and with options being limited surely this will get him recognised.

Borek Dockal - CAM - OVR 75 Another MLS option although this time coming from an international fixture. Dockal assisted both Czechia goals in their 2-1 win away at Slovakia. I feel as though the "competitive" international fixtures will gain the edge when it comes to the selection process and thus Dockal makes my side.

Goran Pandev - ST - OVR 75 There were a couple of options from Macedonia but with Pandev being the only gold one I feel as though that gives him the upper hand. The Genoa striker scored once and assisted another two as they went on to win 4-1 at home to Liechtenstein.

Odion Ighalo - ST - OVR 77 The CSL IF's look set to continue despite it being an international week with Ighalo. The ex-Watford man, who now plays for Changchun Yatai, scored three goals in Nigeria's 4-0 win over Libya. With a decent shooting upgrade, he becomes another way of involving both IF Hulk and IF Tallisca in your side.

Aleksandar Mitrovic - ST - OVR 76 Mitrovic is without a doubt one of the surprise performers in the Premier league so far this season with the Serbian among the highest goal scorers so far, despite playing for newly promoted Fulham. He continued that form onto international territory, scoring twice in Serbia's 2-0 win over Montenegro.

Benjamin Kololli - LB - OVR 68 With the new UEFA Nations League now in full flow it gives lower ranked sides a chance in the IF process rather than being the sides hammered each time. Kosovo look set to pick up an IF after Kololli was deployed in a LB position and scored twice in a 3-1 home win over Malta.

James Coppinger - LW - OVR 65 When it comes to FUT, I doubt anyone will even contemplate using this item, but he does deserve his spot in the side. Playing in what looks to be a LW role and picked up the assist on all three of Doncaster’s goals as they went on to win 3-2 away to Rochdale.

Pedro Aquino - CDM - OVR 71 Although Chile didn't field a full-strength side when travelling to Peru the hosts will still see a 3-0 win as an amazing result and to be fair to them it is. Aquino came off the bench to score twice from midfield and thus securing the win for them.

Valeri Qazishvili- LM - OVR 73 Georgia picked up a routine 3-0 home win over Andorra to keep their impressive form in the UEFA Nations League from which Qazishvili was the star man from scoring two of those three goals.

Carlos Fernandez - ST - OVR 69 One of the domestic divisions still in action was the second tier of Spain and Carlos Fernandez is the obvious choice from that league after finding the net three times in a convincing 4-0 home win over Elche.
