Last week's score: 11/18
Squad Link: https://www.futhead.com/18/squads/3499034/
Thomas Kaminski - GK - OVR 70 There were a couple of Belgian keeper options this week, both of whom boasted huge numbers in the saves category. I believe that Kaminski is the better options of the two though, after he made a total of 12 saves in a 0-0 with Antwerp. The other option is Koepf, who I wouldn't be surprised to see in the side either.
Rasmus Nicolaisen - CB - OVR 56 The reigning champions of Denmark struggled against newly promoted side, Vejle, trailing until late in the game. Once they scored one, the game changed, and they ended up winning 3-1. Young defender, Nicolaisen, scored two of those three goals, and despite being bronze, it should see him on the bench.
Erik Marxen - CB - OVR 65 With Randers trailing 3-0 and then conceding a penalty, it looked as though it was game over. The penalty was then saved before a dramatic ending occurred with goals in the 72nd, 89th and 94th minute to allow the away side to come home with a point. Marxen was involved in both later goals, with a goal and assist, which although they conceded three times, I feel will be enough for his recognition.
Andre Ramalho - CB - OVR 73 There were so many defenders on the fringe of this side with multiple options available after scoring once and keeping a clean sheet. There are only so many spots available though, and thus those coming from higher sides often gets the nod. Ramalho is one of those, playing for RB Salzburg in Austria. The Brazilian grabbed one of their two goals in a 2-0 win.
Michael Jacobs - LM - OVR 69 There were several winger options in the Championship this week, but I feel that Jacobs was the best of them. The Wigan midfielder was unfortunate not to score three after hitting the woodwork, but with two goals to his name in a 3-2 win Wednesday, it should still be enough for him to be included.
Miralem Sulemani - LM - OVR 76 Young Boys continued their 100% start to the season making it three wins from three with a 4-0 win over Zurich. Sulemani was involved in three of those goals with one for himself as well as two assists. That along with him being a Gold item makes him almost impossible to ignore.
Lee Jae Sung - CM - OVR 76 Lee Jae Sung was brilliant throughout the season while playing in Korea for Jeonbuk and has now made the move over to Germany to play for Holstein Kiel. He started with a brilliant impression, claiming POTW after scoring once and assisting another two. Brilliant signing for the German outlet.
Cebio Soukou - CAM - OVR 67 With no major leagues in action, I feel as though with German leagues having clear match ratings, of which EA are proven to use, both of their player of the week selections should feature in the side. Soukou claims that accolade from the third division after scoring twice from a seemingly CAM position.
Yu Kobayashi - RM - OVR 76 Although Kobayashi already has a Team of the Season item, this second in-form is still usable due to the fact he played out on the right and thus gives another option for those using Japanese sides (I'm sure you are out there). Kobayashi added another two goals to his name as Kawasaki went on to win 2-0.
Marcus Pedersen - ST - OVR 68 Although EA have not utilised the SIFs for already Gold items, I still believe there is a preference there. Pedersen, along with many others, found the net twice with the difference being that he already has an IF. He picked up an 8/10 match rating for his brace which came in a convincing 4-0 win.
Valeri Qazaishvili - ST - OVR 75 Qazaishvili was given the more advanced role of ST for San Jose's away trip to Dallas. The decision paid off with the Georgian scoring two of their three goals in a 3-1 win. Not the best of IFs but a potential rating of 84 nonetheless.
Jonas Omlin - GK - OVR 62 Although Omlin conceded twice and Basel went on to win 4-2, it could have been a completely different story. Omlin managed to save not one but two penalties to ensure his side managed to come away with all three points. He also made a couple more crucial stops late on in a match which Basel's complacency almost cost them.
Harry Pickering - LB - OVR 48 EA have seemingly ignored the prospect of a Bronze IF on previous cases, but after 48-rated Harry Pickering recorded three assists in Crewe's convincing 6-0 win, surely they can't overlook them once again. Under the current system in place, Pickering would become a 58 rated IF and thus come Wednesday we should see our first one.
Pascal Schurpf - LM - OVR 60 There are several Bronze candidates this week which could easily result in one or two missing out undeservedly. There are still several ones I just couldn't ignore though. One of those is Schurpf, after he scored twice and assisted another in Luzern's 4-2 win.
Stjepen Kukuruzovic - CM - OVR 65 Four players from the Swiss league could be pushing it, but with the RPL all but confirmed to not being able to pick up IFs, it does give room for the lesser recognised leagues to pick up IFs. Thus Kukuruzovic's two goals and one assist puts him well in contention.
Michael Doughty - CM - OVR 66 We saw it last week with Vossen and now the same has happened again, but this time with a midfielder. I find it hard to believe that a hat-trick from CM will be ignored despite two coming from the spot. Swindon’s new signing Doughty subsequently should be picking up an early IF.
Neal Maupay - ST - OVR 71 The most convincing result in the Championship came from Brentford as they registered a 5-1 win over Rotherham. There were a couple of IF candidates, but I feel the best of the bunch is Maupay, who scored twice and assisted another.
Habib Diallo - ST - OVR 67 Questions will be asked as to why Diallo didn't start the match after the performance given after coming off the bench early on for an injured player. Metz led 1-0 at the time, but it was still Diallo who stole the headlines scoring their remaining four goals to help them run away as 5-1 winners.
