FIFA 18 Team of the Week 28 Predictions

Last week's score: 18/23
Formation: 3-4-2-1

Jordan Pickford - GK - OVR 79 I find myself often stating this but once again the international week proved difficult to select a keeper from. The only real option I could find came with Pickford who made a total of six saves to keep his clean sheet in England's narrow 1-0 win over the Netherlands.

Virgil Van Dijk - CB - OVR 83 Netherlands bounced back from their 1-0 defeat to England in style, going on to beat Portugal by three goals to nil. Two defenders are in with a shout with the IF. De Ligt of which would be his third IF for two assists but with it being a third IF and the fact VVD as a OTW item I can see it going to the ex-Southampton man. VVD scored the third and final goal with a decent strike from the edge of the area.

Miranda - CB - OVR 86 Internationals are by far the hardest to predict, especially when we are focusing on friendlies. Due to that we often see multiple players selected from a single game. Brazil is one example of that after they beat Russia 3-0. The first player I have selected is Inter's CB Miranda who scored the first of those three goals and helped towards the clean sheet.

Sead Kolasinac - LB - OVR 81 Bosnia played out a narrow 1-0 away win against Bulgaria with winger, Kodro, scoring the only goal. Kolasinac provided the assist and helped defensively to keep the clean sheet. I feel that he is also helped by the fact he played the full 90 minutes.

Marko Arnautovic - LW - OVR 82 Arnautovic has been in impressive goal scoring form as of late for West Ham and has continued that form over to international duty, scoring two of Austria's three goals in a 3-0 win over Slovenia.

Paulinho - CM - OVR 83 I mentioned that I would have more than one Brazilian feature in this side and the second is Paulinho, from the same game as Miranda. The Barca man scored once and assisted another. Which should be enough in this week’s weak competition.

James Rodriguez- CAM - OVR 86 One of the more exciting games of the week came as France hosted Colombia. It was the away side who came away as eventual winners with a 3-2 win. Rodriguez picked up the assist of both the first and second goals which along with is OTW item leads me to select him.

Riyad Mahrez - RM - OVR 84 This one was difficult to find information one, so I just hope EA have a source which tells them more about the match. If they dig deep they will be able to see that Mahrez played a big part in Algeria's 4-1 win over Tanzania, picking up the assist on two goals. Considering that the striker with two goals is not on FUT it leaves the door open for the Leicester winger.

Gareth Bale - CAM - OVR 89 It was always only a matter of time before Bale became Wales top ever goal scorer and he managed to break the record during their 6-0 win over China. Not only did he break it, but he broke it in style scoring three of those six goals and even added an assist for good measure. This one could be a record breaker, but I am sticking with the normal IF.

Quaresma - RM - OVR 83 Once again people will be calling for the Ronaldo IF, but two goals is not enough for him in my eyes, even with both goals coming late to turn around the match. Instead I have opted for Quaresma who assisted both those goals.

Teemu Pukki - ST - OVR 71 Although Pukki was originally a Silver which would make this the first time an attacking one has featured in the starting eleven, it would be his third IF and thus making him 84 rated, something which I feel is deserving of that feat. He gets the nod for scoring twice in Finland's Monday night 5-0 win over Malta.

Willy Caballero - GK - OVR 79 Four saves may not be a huge amount however it is one of the highest from gold keepers in the limited games available. It stands out more for the fact it comes in a big game with Argentina beating Italy 2-0. I feel as though the game will have an IF and that Caballero is the best option.

Victor Moses - RWB - OVR 79 Although the goal in question came in the form of a penalty the fact it was the only goal of the game helps Moses's case. Nigeria recorded an impressive 1-0 win away to Poland who did field a strong side. A result not many saw coming and with it being a defender on the scoresheet I can only see this going one way.

Victor Wanyama - CM - OVR 82 A very usable Wanyama IF could be on the way after he bagged himself two goals in Kenya's 2-2 draw with Comoros. A player which often doesn't contribute offensively but finally has his chance for an IF. A chance I feel EA will take.

Mehmet Topal - CDM - OVR 80 There was always going to be one or two midfielders with only one goal making the cut this week, as we have seen so many times before during the international breaks. Topal is one who makes my prediction after the Turkish captain scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Ireland

Bradley Wright-Phillips - ST - OVR 75 You know the MLS is back when BWP's starts to pick up IF's again. The MLS record breaking striker is still scoring regularly and picked up another two during NYRB's 3-0 win over Minnesota.

Ola Kamara - ST - OVR 00 Due to all big leagues not having games we saw a lack of hat tricks being scored so when I saw that Kamara managed to bag himself three goals in a 4-1 win over Australia he became one of the easier predictions of the week.

Sam Vokes - ST - OVR 76 It was obviously Bale which claimed all the headlines from their 6-0 win but another player who could easily pick up an IF is Sam Vokes. Not quite as impressive as Gareth but with two goals and an assist to his name he is another deserving candidate.

Miguel Layun - RWB - OVR 78 Layun is often found scoring goals, most of the time for Porto but after transferring to Sevilla not as much has been heard. He bagged himself two during international duty this week though with Mexico coming out on top as 3-0 winners when they hosted Iceland.

Liam Walker - LM - OVR 67 This is an unusual one for so many reasons. Gibraltar are a relatively new side for the FIFA rankings and one of the weaker ones at that, comparable to the likes of San Marino is many ways. They managed to pick up just their second ever win this weekend, which came as a 1-0 win over Latvia. Walker was the player who scored that goal and became their highest ever goal scorer with a grand total of three goals. Record breaker is surely pushing it, but an IF could be on the way simply for the magnitude of the win.

Braydon Manu - CDM - OVR 61 With the third division of Germany having reliable match ratings I feel as though they will get the nod from the limited domestic leagues in action. Manu picked up player of the day with his two assists, helping his side to all three points.

Igor Coronado - ST - OVR 70 We were very limited in the way of lower league ST's for once and thus those with hat tricks are pretty much certain to pick up IF's Coronado was one of those with his three coming in Palermo's 4-0 home win.

Marc McNulty - ST - OVR 64 Usually I don't want loads of hat tricks from the lower tiers of England, but this week was different with them being the easier domestic divisions to gain information on. McNulty fell into that category, scoring three of four Coventry goals in a 4-0 win.
