FIFA 18 Team of the Week 26 Predictions

Last week's score: 15/23
Formation: 3-4-1-2
Squad Link:

Petr Cech - GK - OVR 86 I am confident that come Wednesday, we will be seeing an Arsenal IF, but who that will be is up for debate. I have opted for Cech considering that it was his 200th clean sheet which on its own is quite remarkable. But he also did it in fashion, saving a penalty in their 3-0 win over Watford. This one could easily go to Mustafi, Mkhitaryan or even PEA.

Serge Aurier - RB - OVR 81 After being confident on Son last week before his FIF was snubbed, he is in line again this week for scoring yet another two goals. I am going to ignore him though after Aurier also stood out. The Ivorian, who also has a OTW item scored one and assisted another which I feel will put him ahead of another Son IF.

Kostas Manolas - CB - OVR 84 Roma recorded another decent result and in turn look to be back to their best with a 3-0 win. There are two players which could be selected but I have opted for Manolas due to positional spread. The Greek international scored one of the said three goals and was awarded the joint highest rating by Gazzetta. Nainggolan is the other option with two assists.

Vitor Hugo - CB - OVR 77 Fiorentina recorded a narrow 1-0 win over Benevento who look relegated already with just 10 points from 27 games. Hugo scored the only goal of the game and was solid at the back to help keep the clean sheet intact.

Paulo Dybala - LW - OVR 89 It's been a while since Dybala last picked up an IF, and after another two goals for the Argentinem it could be time for that TIF. Should he make the cut, he looks set to be a LW meaning he will now have an IF at CAM, RW and LW leaving the possibilities endless for your team. Gazzetta rewarded his brace with a 7.5, but more importantly, it leads to another three points for Juventus, which finally puts them back into first.

Raul Garcia - CAM - OVR 81 La Liga was very limited in terms of options this week besides a few defensive punts and thus a Garcia brace from CAM is very unlikely to go missed. Garcia scored both Bilbao goals in their 2-0 win over Leganes and rightfully claimed the MOTM award to go alongside it

Marcus Rashford - LM - OVR 81 Rashford has been quite quiet this season, but at just 19 years of age, and constantly being played out of position, there is only so much he can do. Still, he shows moments of brilliance, backing up the hype he often receives. He managed a brace against Liverpool in a match United went on to win 2-1. How long before he gets the striker spot he deserves?

Franck Ribery - LM - OVR 86 The first of two Munich players to make my side is Ribery. The Frenchman scored twice in Munich's 6-0 hammering of Hamburg and the first is worth a watch with a fantastic solo effort being shown. Ribery went on to pick up MOTM and POTW which makes him the favourite for an IF despite a hat trick being scored.

Michy Batshuayi - ST - OVR 80 Due to a very dominant Munich displaym the TOTW was largely full of Bayern players; this meant that Batshuayi failed to feature. However, his brace did result in him being awarded MOTM and with a lack of other options in the division I feel as though it will be another for another IF.

Rodrigo - ST - OVR 80 One of two players could get this spot with Rodrigo scoring twice in a 2-0 win over Sevilla and Kondogbia assisting both goals. Due to the competition in midfield ,and a few gold striker spots being available, I feel as though Rodrigo is the better option though and could finally get that upgrade to his PTG item.

Robert Lewandowski - ST - OVR 00 Although Lewandowski wasn't awarded MOTM, it would be foolish to ignore a hat trick in the Bundesliga. He did miss a penalty, but with a 1.5 match rating, he is still one of the best options for this week’s selection.

Steve Mandanda - GK - OVR 82 On paper, three saves in a narrow 2-1 win doesn't look that great, especially for a second IF. But in the circumstances, it could well be enough. Mandanda picked up an 8 from L'Equipe, which is always a good start, and suggests that his saves were crucial to the result. On top of that, Ligue 1 was not the most exciting of leagues this week and thus we have only three realistic options, one of which is Mandanda, who makes my side.

Joe Bennett - LB - OVR 69 There were so many options for this spot, but Bennett was a player I just couldn't ignore in the end though after he picked up three assists in a dramatic 4-3 win over Norwich. Several defenders picked up either two assists or two goals, but with three goal contributions, I just can’t ignore Bennett.

Yassin Ayoub - CM - OVR 76 The Eredivisie turned into a goal fest this weekend with several teams finding the net time and time again -- as you can imagine, it has resulted in several IF opportunities. One of those is Ayoub, who scored twice and assisted another in Utrecht's 5-1 home win over Vitesse.

Jonjo Shelvey - CM - OVR 00 First, Kenedy deserves a mention, considering he scored two of the three goals. But due to him being silver, while Shelvey is gold, the way the side is selected then heavily favors the gold player. That being said, Shelvey still makes a fair claim after picking up two assists. It was an impressive overall performance from Newcastle who made Southampton look very poor with a 3-0 win.

Carlos Vela - CAM - OVR 82 The fact that Rossi is not in the game made this decision significantly easier after his brace and assist can be ignored. The other option is Vela, who picked up a goal and assist, which alongside his new PTG item is something which stands out. Los Angeles FC ran away as 5-1 winners away to RSL, who have a very good home record usually.

Chris Wood - ST - OVR 76 Back over the Premier league again now with Burnley recording another impressive win as they go from strength to strength once again this season. Wood came off the bench to change the game, being involved in all three goals by assisting the first before scoring two of his own.

Alassane Plea - ST - OVR 79 It's not often that L'Equipe hand out ratings above an 8, with it usually being something special which prompts the to do so. I feel it's safe to say that Plea falls into that category after he managed four in Nice's 5-2 away win over Guingamp.

Christopher Nkunku - LW - OVR 71 An unusual face appeared on the LW for PSG this week with 19-year-old Nkunku given a chance to feature. It's safe to say he took his chance scoring twice in their 5-0 win and picking up MOTM in the process with an 8/10 from L'Equipe. There were so many options for this spot, but with it being PSG, I feel as though his chances are greatly increased.

Graham Burke - CAM - OVR 61 It's been a while since I have predicted an Irish league IF, largely due to them not playing, but Burke is the man who will be picking up their first since returning to action after he scored four goals from what looks to be a CAM role in Shamrock's 6-1 home win over Derry.

Moussa Kone - ST - OVR 61 Bundesliga 2's player of the week was awarded to Kone for his hat trick in Dresden's narrow 3-2 win. Because of that I feel that he will make EA's TOTW but with several non-gold performances coming from both goalkeepers and defenders it may be a case of one of the three ST's I have selected will miss out.

Carlos Lopez - ST - OVR 74 Thanks to a winter upgrade, this IF could be quite decent as a Spanish discard; the only down side is that he comes from the Polish league, making your options slim. The Wisla forward found the net three times to help guide them to a 3-1 home win over Wroclaw.

Fran Sol - ST - OVR 68 An option you do have for partnering him up is Sol, who also looks set for an IF after he claimed a huge 9 match rating for his performance in Willem's ridiculous 5-0 win over PSV. Sol scored three of those five with his teammate, Reinstra, scoring the other two. If this one doesn’t happen, something is wrong.
