FIFA 18 Team of the Week 12 Predictions

Last week's score: 15/23
Formation: 3-4-1-2
Squad Link:

Keylor Navas - GK - OVR 85 It was a disappointing 0-0 draw for Madrid, who had the chance to catch the leading pack with both Barca and Valencia dropping points themselves. It could have been even worse had it not have been for Navas though. The Costa Rican made a total of four saves to keep his clean sheet which MARCA awarded him three stars for.

Ashley Young - LWB - OVR 76 I have selected two players from Manchester United this week, however, they do come from separate fixtures. Young comes from the first they played which was a 4-2 win over Watford. Young scored two of those goals from a LWB position to continue his run of form.

Antonio Rudiger - CB - OVR 82 Another game from the mid-week fixtures now which is often risky but with it being the Premier League I am confident enough that they will be included. Rudiger gets the nod for scoring the only goal of the game as Chelsea recorded a 1-0 win over Swansea.

Alex Telles - LB - OVR 80 My biggest punt of the week comes with Telles after he played well defensively in Porto's 0-0 draw with Benfica. This is a game which often produces an IF and thus although there is no obvious choice with Telles picking up MOTM he becomes an option due to it being an attractive game on paper.

Coutinho - LW - OVR 86 Either Coutinho or Firmino could be the player receiving an IF this week after they demolished Brighton 5-1 but considering Coutinho picked up MOTM I just must go for him. The Brazilian magician scored one for himself, assisted another two directly and caused the OG. Not a bad day at the office.

Wayne Rooney - CM - OVR 81 One mid-week option that there is no doubt surrounding is that of an IF Rooney after the now midfielder managed to bag a hat trick as Everton finally got back to winning ways with a 4-0 win over West Ham. The third and final Rooney goal came from his own half just for an additional incentive.

Mesut Ozil - CAM - OVR 88 Although Arsenal lost 3-1 to United over the weekend, they did record a 5-0 win over Brighton in the same selection period. From that match I have selected Ozil who scored one, assisted another two and played a huge part in another. Big name, big win, PL. All factors which point towards his inclusion.

Ivan Perisic - LM - OVR 84 The Italian league already has an affordable full special item side which is more than usable and with Perisic set to be a LM it looks as though another option is on the way. The Croatian scored three times during Inter's 5-0 win which inevitably saw him pick up MOTM with an 8/10 from Gazzetta.

Kingsley Coman - LM - OVR 79 The first of two path to glory items I have selected this week is Coman. The French winger scored one and assisted another during Munich's 3-1 home win over Hannover, a result which now puts them six points clear at the top.

Gonzalo Higuain - ST - OVR 90 A SIF for a player of Higuain's caliber for scoring one goal is always going to be a stretch but considering how important the game was alongside the fact Gazzetta rewarded him with an 8/10 has resulted in me taking the punt. It was a result which allowed Inter to take the lead while Juventus close the gap to just two points, one behind Napoli.

Iago Aspas - ST - OVR 83 There are several pointers towards a SIF Aspas with the main one being that Vigo took points off Barca (2-2 draw) the others being that there was a lack of both La Liga and striking options. Aspas picked up three stars from Marca for his goal and assist which played a huge part in the Vigo point.

Mike Maignan - GK - OVR 72 It's been an impressive week for Maignan, who has picked up two 8/10 performances from L'equipe after he was crucial to the result on both occasions. I am predicting him to make it from the second of those two games after he made a 91st minute penalty save to go with his four other saves in the game which allowed Lille to run away as 1-0 winners.

Florian Thauvin - RW - OVR 82 Thauvin was heavily involved in both Marseille games this week with a goal and assist mid-week before scoring another goal in their 1-1 draw on Sunday. I have selected him from the first of those two fixtures after L'equipe awarded him with an 8/10.

Enner Valencia - RM - OVR 76 Despite Tigres winning the first leg 1-0, against Club America it was always going to be a tough ask. They capitalised superbly though, going on to win the second leg 3-0, which resulted in a 4-0 aggregate win. Valencia scored two of the three second leg goals and thus makes my side.

Jesse Lingard - CAM - OVR 78 The second united player if of course Lingard. The English youngster has really come into this own as of late. He scored one and assisted another in the previously mentioned 4-2 win over Watford, but he is selected for his two goals in United’s 3-1 win over Arsenal.

Dimitri Lienard - CM - OVR 75 The biggest shock of the weekend came in Ligue 1 where hosts, Strasbourg came away with a 2-1 win over PSG. A result like that is always going to produce an IF and with Lienard claiming MOTM alongside being gold it's a straight forward selection.

Giuliano - ST - OVR 81 We have already seen PTG players receive preferential treatment and thus after Giuliano scored twice for Fene in their 4-0 win I am more than happy to take the punt on him. He did play in a more advanced role but with a lack of attacking option I don't think that will matter.

Serge Gnabry - ST - OVR 79 Hoffenheim jumped up to 5th place in the Bundesliga after recorded a very impressive 4-0 home win over Leipzig. Gnabry was the stand out player scoring two of those goals, one of which was special to say the least. He was rewarded with Kicker's POTW which almost makes him a certainty for this side.

Alberto Brignoli - GK - OVR 70 When a keeper scores a late goal, more often than not you will see them in the coinciding TOTW. Brignoli is the latest to do so after he scored a spectacular header in the final moments of the game to level the score in Benevento's 2-2 draw with AC Milan.

Steven Ruprecht - CB - OVR 66 With a lack of Bundesliga options it is likely that a lower tier German league player will get in. With that in mind, considering that Ruprecht picked up player of the week for the third division after scoring twice I fully expect to see him feature.

Odsonne Edouard - ST - OVR 70 It really doesn't matter who plays up top for Celtic, whoever it is always scores goal after goal after goal. It was Edouard's time to shine, given the start for their home fixture with Motherwell and the Frenchman rewarded them with three goals in a 5-1 win.

Jakub Swierczok - ST - OVR 65 The Polish league look set to pick up their first domestic IF, with the only one they currently have coming from the international break. Swierczok scored three of four Zaglebie goals in a 4-2 home win.

Yu Kobayashi - ST - OVR 73 It's been a while since we have seen a J-League representative but after Kobayashi banged three goals during a 5-0 win it is almost certain that we will be seeing one on Saturday. Potentially a decent discard IF to link up with Podolski.
