FIFA 18 Team of the Week 5 Predictions

Last week's score: 17/23
Formation: 3-4-1-2

Goalkeeper

Benjamin Lecomte - GK - OVR 79 It was another poor result for Nice as they lost 2-0 away at Montpellier. It could well have been a different story had Lecomte not have been in fine form though. The French stopper made a total of eight saves which saw him claim an 8/10 from L'Equipe, making him the joint highest of the week alongside Fekir.

Defenders

Aritz Elustondo - CB - OVR 77 There were very few defensive options this week, and mixing that with a lack of Liga BBVA options, I have decided to take the punt on Elustondo. Although the defender was not MOTM, with a goal and a clean sheet to his name, he stands a chance of making it.

Alexey Berezutskiy - CB - OVR 77 The Berezutskiy twins are still going strong for CSKA at the age of 35, Alexey, the weaker of the two in terms of FUT ratings, found himself scoring the only goal of the game as CSKA won 1-0 away at Krasnodar.

Naldo - CB - OVR 82 It was only a couple of weeks ago I opted for not selecting a Bundesliga player due to lack of options and EA went on to select three. Once again, they have offered very little, but this time I will be predicting one in Naldo. The Brazilian assisted one of Schalke's two goals in a 2-0 win.

Midfielders

Goncalo Guedes - LM - OVR 74 My second Liga BBVA punt of the week comes with Guedes after the midfielder scored one and assisted another in a 6-3 Valencia win. He picked up MOTM in the process with 3 Stars being given from Marca.

Manolo Gabbiadini - CAM - OVR 79 Had Gabbiadini of played in his usual ST role, I probably would not have included him in the side. But seeing as though he occupied a CAM position, he walks into the side. The Italian scored both Southampton goals as they managed a 2-2 draw with Newcastle.

Nabil Fekir - CAM - OVR 82 Fekir played a huge role in Lyon's 3-2 win on Friday, scoring twice and assisting Diaz for the other. The winner came late on in the game which resulted in Lyon coming away with three points against Monaco.

Raheem Sterling - RW - OVR 82 Yet another convincing win for City who are ruthless in front of goal, winning 7-2 against Stoke. The IF/IFs could go several ways, but I feel that Sterling with a goal and two assists is the front runner for the City inclusion.

Forwards

Gabriel Jesus - ST - OVR 81 That being said I do have two Manchester City players selected for their 7-2 win. Jesus is the second after he scored two of the said seven goals. With a lack of big name players and strikers available for the side, he becomes a strong candidate for it.

Mauro Icardi - ST - OVR 84 The Milan Derby lived up to expectation with a thrilling match unfolding. It was Inter who came away victorious, largely thanks to Icardi, who scored all three of the goals which includes the winning penalty. He picked up player of the week in Italy with a huge match rating of 9/10.

Ciro Immobile - ST - OVR 82 The first of two Lazio players, both of whom come from the opposite side of the pitch is Immobile. The striker was behind both goals which allowed them to issue Juventus's first loss of the season with a 2-1 win.

Substitutes

Thomas Strakosha - GK - OVR 74 Although it was a narrow 2-1 win over Juventus for Lazio, I do have two players included in this side. The second comes after Strakosha saved a last-minute Dybala penalty to secure the three points. The Albanian also made another five saves and from his performance claimed an 8/10 from Gazzetta.

Nedeljko Malic - CB - OVR 63 Once again there were several options for the substitute defender spot but Malic was the only one to score twice. Although the game ended 2-2 Malic's offensive display should be enough to catch attention.

Luke Berry - LM - OVR 65 When you think about it a gold IF from the fourth division of England seems absurd but after Berry found the net three times for Luton in another demolition for them, winning 7-1, it’s about to become a reality.

Gaston Pereiro - CM - OVR 76 PSV recorded a 5-2 win on Sunday with Pereiro being behind two of the goals. The Uruguayan midfielder went on the be awarded with Dutch player of the week with a match rating of 8/10.

Wanderson - ST - OVR 68 There are usually question marks surrounding the relegation playoff matches and the topic occurs year in year out. The way I tackle them, and continue to do so, is that if they are playing a side which are in the game I will go on to include them. Wanderson falls into that category after scoring three in their 4-2 win over Jeonnam.

Sven Michel - ST - OVR 67 At this rate it won’t be long until you can build a full gold Bundes 3 side. Michel looks set to become the latest addition to that after he found himself in the goals, scoring three in Paderborn's 7-1 home win.

Daniel Frahn - ST - OVR 69 Continuing from Michel he could well have a strike partner in TOTW 5. Frahn also scored a hat trick, scoring all three of Chemnitzer's goals in a 3-1 for the home side.

Reserves

Fernando Belluschi - CM - OVR 80 Over to Argentina now, with Belluschi. The central midfielder picked up the assist on all three San Lorenzo goals as the home side went on to win by three goals to one.

Romain Alessandrini - RM - OVR 77 It’s been a tough old year for LA Galaxy, who picked up just their second win in twenty games via a 3-0 home win on Sunday. Alessandrini was the magician behind the win, scoring twice and assisting another. The past champions still sit at the bottom of the table though.

Cyril Thereau - CAM - OVR 77 Yet another selection from Calcio A after once again they produced the most options. Thereau scored both their goals from just behind the striker in a narrow 2-1 win over Udinese.

Marvin Ducksch - ST - OVR 67 Yet another lower league German player now with them seemingly being the only players capable of scoring three. Ducksch picked up player of the week after doing just that during Holstein's 5-3 away win.

Nemanja Nikolic - ST - OVR 75 We end the prediction with an MLS representative after Nikolic, as he often does, found himself within the goals. This time he claimed three of them as Chicago Fire went on to beat Philadelphia Union, 3-2.
