Samir Handanovic - GK - OVR 88 For once, the starting keeper was not an obvious choice. With a few stand out options, in the end, I opted for Handanovic, whose Inter side maintain the second best defensive record in the league despite sitting in fifth position, with just 26 goals conceded in 35 games. I excluded Buffon due to only playing 18 matches, while the youngster Donnarumma can feel a bit hard done by. Handanovic is the man getting the nod from me though, and what an item he will be.
Alex Sandro - LB - OVR 86 Although the fact Sandro has been deployed in a LW role on a few occasions this season, the majority has been played in his usual LB position. His time at LW has helped him stand out though; with four goals and four assists now to his name, the Brazilian boasts strong offensive and defensive numbers. Juventus maintain the best defense in the division with only 22 goals being allowed in the 35 they have played. Sandro is likely to become the best LB item we have seen in some time because of it.
Kalidou Koulibaly - CB - OVR 84 Napoli not only look to finish in second position, but they also obtain the second best defensive record in the league, which is also only beaten by Juventus. Koulibaly has been their main defender, putting in a shift each week. The Napoli man also provides offensively, scoring five goals and grabbing a single assist.
Giorgio Chiellini - CB - OVR 89 When getting towards the end of my prediction, I realised that I probably needed some more Juventus players, and thus I actively tried to fit some in. Chiellini was one of those after I felt that his Community TOTS inclusion will help his cause. He is still a big part of the best defense in the division and on top of that is one of the more active players in an oft-rotating defense.
Aleksandar Kolarov - LB - OVR 81 Regular Premier league watchers know exactly what Kolarov is about and he has transferred that over to Italy with Roma. The Serbian is still a constant attacking threat; with two goals and eight assists to his name from LB, I can't see him being ignored for the side, especially when he is part of the fourth best defense in the division.
Ivan Perisic - LW - OVR 86 Inter look as though they are going to narrowly miss out on top four, and in turn, Champions League football. Despite that, there have been a couple of players which have excelled, Perisic being one of them. The Croatian regularly picks up multiple special items a season but then goes on to miss out on a spot in TOTS. This time, I feel it will be different, after he picked up 11 goals and 10 assists for Inter.
Radja Nainggolan - CM - OVR 86 Nainggolan looks set to pick up a TOTS item for the fourth consecutive season, showing why the 29-year-old Belgian is known as one of if not the best box to box midfielder in Italy. As always, the Roma midfielder has plenty of attacking contributions to be recognised for that alone but it’s his all-round game which impresses the most. Four goals and nine assists are what he has statistically.
Paulo Dybala - CAM - OVR 89 Dybala has proven that no matter where he plays he can perform picking up IFss at CAM, CF, LW and RW during FIFA 18. CAM is the role he plays in the most and thus where his inevitable TOTS item is likely to be. The Argentines have several upcoming talents which makes them likely to thrive in the international competitions for years to come, even when Messi decides to hang his boots. Dybala has been pivotal to Juventus who now look likely to pick up yet another title, scoring 21 times and assisting another five.
Lorenzo Insigne - LW - OVR 87 I almost ignored Insigne for Callejon, but seeing as the latter featured as a Daily Knockout Tournament reward, I can't see EA then placing him in the Calcio A TOTS. Insigne is another option though, with the winger recording eight goals and seven assists but what is more impressive is the fact he places third in Gazzetta's overall ratings.
Ciro Immobile - ST - OVR 85 What a season it has been for the Lazio striker! Immobile has always shown ability with his goal scoring presence but he has taken it to another level this year. Currently leading the golden boot race with 29 goals he has been a crucial part of Lazio's champions league race. Not to mentioned that he also had nine assists which puts him on 38 goal contributions in just 32 games.
Mauro Icardi - ST - OVR 86 Only just off the pace of Immobile we have a usual face in Icardi, with 27 goals to his name. This will be the fourth consecutive season that the Argentine makes Calcio A's TOTS showing his ability over a long period of time and you must remember that the striker is still only 24 years old. How long will he stay at Inter before he gets a chance to prove himself in another league?
Alisson - GK - OVR 80 With the way the voting was done for Community TOTS, I was worried that Alisson was going to miss out, which would have been a complete farce. Thankfully he didn't though and will now be in line for a re-release in the Calcio A side. Roma have a brilliant defensive record with just 28 goals conceded in the 35 domestic games played. Alisson has played a huge role in that making save after save to keep them in games.
Stefan de Vrij- CB - OVR 84 Over to Lazio now with their second addition to the side in de Vrij. The Dutchman is helped by the fact he has scored six times and thus standing out over other defenders but his overall game has been impressive with EA also opting to award him a winter upgrade item. Lazio's defensive record is the one thing working against him but I feel that he has enough to make the eventual cut.
Douglas Costa - LM - OVR 83 With the rotation that Juventus implement to their squad this is the first TOTS that is not dominated by the champions. One player that I feel will just about scrape in is Costa though who regularly provides assists with ten to his name. Just the four goals to go alongside that but with a healthy Gazzetta average rating I believe that it will force him in.
Sergej Milinkovic Savic - CM - OVR 83 Now for the player I expect that many have been waiting for simply since he will be one of, if not the best CMs on the game in terms of overall stats. With no less than five special items already to his name Savic has been a consistent performer for Lazio throughout the year. Statistically he has 11 goals and three assists but his overall game has been simply amazing.
Luis Alberto - CAM - OVR 80 Alberto was somewhat written off after failing to make it into the Liverpool squad despite being labeled as an up and coming youngster on several occasions. Now at 25 years of age, it is the first time we have witnessed what the Spaniard is capable of on a regular basis. He has been dominant throughout the season in the middle for Lazio which is backed up by his numbers. 11 goals and 13 assists are what he now sits on. Very impressive indeed.
Dries Mertens - ST - OVR 87 Since making the move to ST from the winger role Mertens has turned into a completely different player with the Belgian somewhat scoring for fun. Although his tally is nothing shown in the 2016/17 campaign with 17 goals and 6 assists to his name the Napoli man has still done enough to make TOTS, playing a big part in Napoli's title push.
Fabio Quagliarella - ST - OVR 78 This one could bring some real nostalgic value to the table with Quagliarella's FIFA 10 item being one of my best memories, linking up with Miccoli to score from ridiculous range. Now at 35 years of age Quagliarella is coming towards the end of his career but he is ending it in style with an impressive 19 goals being scored for Sampdoria this campaign, which is likely to result in his first ever TOTS Item.
Milan Skriniar - CB - OVR 80 The perfectly named Milan Skriniar makes it four Inter players which for a team down in fifth may seem excessive but they have seen a few really stand out. The Slovakian defender is one of those, helping Inter towards their brilliant defensive record alongside recording four goals at the other end. At just 22 years of age he looks to be a player to keep an eye on!
Miralem Pjanic - CM - OVR 86 The final selection I made was to put Pjanic on the reserves and honestly my decision was swayed by the fact I needed more Juventus options. Four goals and eight assists are what the Bosnian has to his name which is not the best but as always it is Pjanic pulling the strings in the middle of the park and has picked up a winter upgrade item showing that EA rate the midfielder.
Iago Falque - RW - OVR 80 It's safe to say that Falque has been an important part of Torino's season with the Spaniard contributing to over a third of their goals with eleven goals and three assists. I find it baffling that he has failed to pick up a special item this season but surely when TOTS come around he will finally have one, he is joint second for goals outside of strikers after all.
Simone Verdi - RW - OVR 79 There’s usually a player from the lower sides that makes the cut in each TOTS and this one looks to be Bologna winger, Verdi. With eight goals and ten assists to his name Verdi has narrowly missed out on a TOTW spot on numerous occasions but surely these statistics over a season are too good to overlook.
Edin Dzeko - ST - OVR 84 By his standards I feel that Dzeko will be slightly disappointed by his performances this season, although he has had several stand out games he has been underwhelming. I do feel that he has done just about enough to be included in the side, helped by his name a little. 16 goals and three assists are what he has on paper, which is 13 behind the leader.
