It only took one goal -- against Cardiff City -- no less, but with some of Europe's big five domestic league on Winter break, that would be all it took for Tottenham's Christian Eriksen to lead FIFA 19 Ultimate Team's Team of the Week 17.
With limited options with the reduced player pool, as our Aarong222 pointed out Monday evening, TOTW 17 pretty much played out to form.
The 90 Eriksen, his second of that overall following his TOTGS, is joined by Manchester City's Fernandinho. It's tough for a player like the Brazilian to stack up the black-and-gold special items given how sparingly he puts the ball in the back of the net, but there's little debate he's been City's MVP of late. With N'Golo Kante's role changed in London, he's got a shout as the best center defensive midfielder in the Premier League.
Villareal's Sergio Asenjo continued his 2018/19 La Liga campaign brilliance this past week. In a crowded field with plenty of goalkeeper shouts to go around, Asenjo's three-star grade for his fine performance in a scoreless draw against Eibar evidently made the difference. With his second in-form, he's all the way up to 87 overall and might be worth if you have Spanish centerbacks and/or play a La Liga squad (or hybrid).
The rest of the offerings are few and far between -- SIF Arnautovic anyone? -- but as we pointed out on the Futhead Twitter, Porto right back-turned-centerback Eder Militao might be a tasty option for those on a budget.
