FUT 19 new Ones to Watch: Juve Ronaldo, plus Champions/Europa League cards

A wild Saturday of FUT 19 reveal peaked with the announcement of the first three FIFA 19 Ones To Watch items in Ultimate Team.

Juventus' Cristiano Ronaldo, Atletico Madrid's Thomas Lemar, and Bayern Munich's Leon Goretzka will headline the first release, expected to shortly follow FIFA 19's retail release of 28 September, 2018. It's worth reiterating that these OTW item's face stats are by no means final.

Ones to Watch items have historically upgraded dynamically whenever a player receives an In-Form, Man of the Match (continental or domestic), Team of the Tournament, or Hero item to match that later released player item's stats. It remains to be seen if we'll see any tweaks to when and how OTWs upgrade this FIFA.

As if that wasn't enough, through the also news-worthy-in-its-own-right mechaism of "Player Pick Packs" (those who've played Madden Ultimate Team will recognize an almost FUT Draft-like feature to choose a card or reward from certain packs or releases), we also got our first glimpse at the new Champions League and Europa League player items:

We don't know a ton about how these will work yet, but EA promotional literature refers to them as "live themed content," which should suggest as these players standout in European's top competitions, these items could upgrade along with them.

It's difficult to not be hyped after the avalanche of new FUT info/visuals today. What do you think about the item designs and which players are you most hoping to invest in at the start of FIFA 19 Ultimate Team?
